    Shared roaming profile & Outlook

    Locked

    by ralfeus ·

    Hi all.
I need several users to use same profile including Outlook profile. What I have done:
    1. I have set up the profile (including Outlook) for one user.
    2. Then I have copied user’s profile to the share and granted permissions on the folder to the required users (or to be more exact – to the group, where all necessary users are).
    3. Then I have specified the path to the profile for all necessary users.

Now when I try to log on as original user (that one, whose profile was used as a template) I have no problems.
When I log on as any other user I see all icons at the desktop however their location is not original one. But the worst thing is that I can’t start Outlook at all. The error is: “Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook”.
When I try to open Control Panel->Mail I get error: “You need more memory or system resources. Close some windows and try again”.

How can I fix it? I need all users to use same profile. The profile can be mandatory, but it’s not necessary.

    Thank you in advance.

Well, I have solved the problem. I didn’t grant permissions on the user’s hive of the registry. After I granted Full Control to the required group on user’s hive of registry everything works fine.

        Hello
what do you mean by grant permission on the user’s hive of the registry?
I have the same issue, I have created an Outlook profile and shared it in the roaming profile of Windows, it works fine with the main user, but when I try to open with another user I have the same message you had.
