The folder SharedDocuments is obviously built into Windows XP for the purpose of sharing files across a network. When I first enabled this sharing, others running 95-98 could see my computer on the network, could see the file folder marked SharedDocs, and could access the files in the folder. No changes were made to the rights of that folder, but now, when they double-clicking that folder, they get an error: \\computername\SharedDocs is not accessible. Access is denied. I went back to the source workstation to check the permissions, and it says that I have granted others rights to that directory share and “allow network users to change my files.”
I can create a shortcut to their desktop for certain documents contained in that directory, but I don’t understand why they get an error when trying to browse to that same location!
Any ideas how I can fix this?? Thanks in advance…
