Sharefolders on network folders is inacc

By tilsonkephas ·
I created couple sharefolders on one of the users on the LAN but no one can access these folders. The access type is Read-only. I tried both full access and depend upon password and also both file and print sharing boxes are checked from the controlpanel in the network, but still inaccessable. Any idea what causes this and how to solve this problem?
Thanks
Tilson

Are the folders on the root of a drive? If not, people must have at least read (list if running 2000/XP) rights to the folders above the shares so they can "read" thru the directory to the shared directory.

Also, you've got 2 sets of permissions on the folders. The folder permissions and the shared permissions. Check both to verify you're not excluding someone.

Good Luck,

You do not state if the computers can see each other or if it is just that the users can not access the shares themselves.
