Sharing a folder

If I share a folder (in this case the CD in my D: drive) on a Windows 2000 machine, should a Windows 95 machine on the same network be able to access that shared folder?

I have a program I need to install on a computer with no CD-Rom, and am trying to do it by sharing the D: drive on my computer. Thanks
