SHARING A PRINTER

By digitalshy ·
At Work we have a LAN with Netware 4.2 and six work stations with Netware Client 3.2 and Windows 98. A Laser Jet 4M Printer is connected to the File Server.

On one work station there is an Inkjet Printer.

How can I share the Inkjet Printer with the other five workstations?

I have tried file/printer sharing and this does not help.

Any assistance?

SHARING A PRINTER

In order to share out your printer over the network, File and Print Sharing must be enabled. Once you have that set then go into the printers folders and right click on the Inkjet printer and select sharing, you must then give the printer a share name. This will help you select this printer from the other workstation's when your browsing for this printer over the network. Its as simple as that. But remember In order to print to that printer the computer must be on otherwise the other workstation's will not be able to print.

SHARING A PRINTER

I had to delete Microsoft Client for Network and add Client for Netware Network.

Having done that I was unable to receive broadcast messages from the file server.

Can an experience Novell Netware Administrator offer some assistance?

Thank you!
