Sharing Distribution and Public Folders

By rakesh.chawda ·
Hi

I have installed Exchange 5.5 on 2 seperate servers, both were installed as the same organisation but under different sites. after installing Site connector and directory replication the 2 servers can talk to each other and recipients can sendemails to the other site and vice versa.

However the outlook clients can see all recipents in the GAL but not the other site distribution list or public folders - how can i share this, so we can have 2 distribution i.e site1 and site2 also to share public folders.

cheers

Sharing Distribution and Public Folders

All distribution lists (DLs) created are visible in the GAL. Check the advanced tab of the DL properties to make sure the "Hide from address book" checkbox is not checked.
The public folders in one site may not have been replicated to the other site. Use the public information store "Instances" tab to add the public folder to the list to be replicated. Check the Replication Schedule for the next scheduled replication. If, after that replication, the folder is still not visible, check the application log for public folder replication errors. Check the Outlook client to ensure the folder is set to be visible.
regards, lazarus.

cHECK THAT THE DISTRIBUTION LIST ARE NOT HIDE TO THE OTHER EXCHANGE (UNDER PROPERTIES OF EACH LIST)
The public folders in one site may not have been replicated to the other site FOLDERS. Double check the replication scenarios.
