Sharing printer between Windows XP & ME

By skyrel_aref ·
Hi,
I would like to know how you setup a printer in ME so that other pC using XP can use it. XP can see the ME pc but it can't use its printer. The subnet mask is same. Can you tell me why?
Thanks

Have you enabled file and printer sharing on the Me box?

Since you can see the Me box from the XP box, that should be all you need to do.

Then, install the printer driver on the XP box for a network printer.

If I am reading his question correctly, he says the XP machine can see the ME machine.. However can you see the shares on the Me machine? I.E printer etc.. You're not very clear with "it can see the me pc, but can't use its printer"...

Subnet mask has nothing to do with this setup....

Good Luck..

Hi

OK, maybe a daft suggestion, but have you shared the printer that is attached to the WinME computer?

Also, does the user of the WinXP machine have permission to use the printer?

Good luck
