Environment: Server Win 2000. WinXP clients.
Parent shared folder, subfolder L1, subfolder L2.
I am trying to set permissions for 2 individual users on a shared folder. I want them to be able to have full control on subfolder L2 only in the shared folder. On the parent shared folder and other subfolders, they should only have read permission.
I have tried changing the security and sharing permissions on each of the folders and it still does not work the way I want it to.
This is what I have set for the users at the moment:
Parent folder: sharing is set to read only and security is set at full control.
Subfolder L2: Sharing and security is set at full control. Allow inheritable permissions is marked.
What is happening at the moment: Getting ‘access denied’ message when trying to create a new folder.
Please help!
