Shifting of IT career to business consultant

By manipitchu ·
Hi friends,
I am a computer science engineering graduate(2003passout). After my graduation i got a chance to do a s/w project in Manufacturing & Logistics industry. I done the project subsequently that company offered me to work on the business side(logistics & supply chain) with good pay. Without thinking of my future & my qualifications, i accepted the offer and worked on the same. Before 3 months i got an offer in one of the Manufacturing & Exporter MNC to work on USA in the Logistics field. Now am working on the same and waiting for my visa interview. Hope i will start from India on Jan2006. Recently I had contacted one of my friend who was studying in USA and he informed me abt the scope of the SAP consultant jobs in usa. Now I have one question that why dont i start prepare for SAP certification on my respective field(Logistics & Supply chain), by the way i will become a SAP functional consultant. But i donot want to leave the current job. Can you pls suggest me whether it is a right decision? if so, how should i start? whether any online \ parttime SAP offering courses available, since am having plenty of freetime. OR is SAP certification necessary for the functional consultant job(am having only 2yrs of relevant business experience).

Kindly advice and help me to make my future as bright.

Thanks in advance...
