Shorewall/Webmin

By brian ·
Hi,

I'm running a firewall/file server under Mandrake 10.1. For the life of me I can't connect to Webmin on that box from other local machines. I'm reasonably certain that it's an issue with Shorewall. I have tried every rule under the sun trying to get it to work but no-go. I can run Webmin fine locally. But remotely, it appears to just "Drop" the request. The browser will continue to "work" forever without ever returning a message.

As an internet firewall, it masquerades fine. Anything obvious that I'm missing?

Brian

You may have the mandrake firewall running as well as shorewall. Try to disable that firewall. You should be able to the processes running if you open webmin onthat box, and you can turn it off there.
