Shortcuts go to Printer window

By gary ·
Not sure how this started. If I am on a web page and I want to create a shortcut, say to the desktop. I right click, send to desktop, etc. When you go to the shortcut on the desktop, it pulls up the printer window. This only seems to happen with Internet pages. Creating a shortcut to a document that is in word or any other document works fine.

Look forward to any response and answer. Gary

In IE6, if I want a shortcut back this page, I don't right click...I click on File and Send and send to Desktop. THen when on the Desktop the link brings me back. So stop right clicking when in the webpage. File, Send, Desktop does it. Ciao

Poster rated this answer. this did not solve the problem. I have used all the traditional methods. It appears there is somthing else going on. I am not sure the shortcut system works, but there must be something wrong in the software.

When I want to "Click & Drag" I grab the "Internet" icon inside the IE address box. Works everytime.

Does it do it to your "favourites" pull down window or to your links task bar? If not, then try reinstalling IE. If it works there, then I am not sure. Have you tried the Microsoft Knowledge Base?
