Shorten/Redirect URLs

By GeckoPunk ·
Lately, I've become quite lazy typing in long URLs and would like to redirect URLs I type to sites I would like to go to.

For example: I would like to just type "pct" in the URL to go to "http://www.prudentialct.com" or "mup" to go to "http://www.update.microsoft.com".

How can I manually create this type of redirection so I can simplify my browsing experience?

Thank you,
Derek

Use tinyurl.com. There many others. Google them.

If you'd rather type

than use shortcuts/bookmarks or TinyURL, you can use OpenDNS, with which you can set up a browser address bar "shortcut" like you are asking for. You have to follow the setup procedure (easy).
