I have an Asus M2NPV-VM mobo with an amd 3800+ dual core processor. When I go to the asus website, I find that for my chip, it says i have to have M2NPV-VM Beta BIOS 1301 bios.
Needless to say, the word Beta sends up warning flags. I flashed the bios with the next previous bios for this mobo, 1201. But since I habitually will run two instances of everquest 2 on my computer as I play that game, I do look for ever edge.
My question therefore is simple. Do I need and should I flash my bios with the 1301 or beta bios? What exactly do I gain in the way of speed/performance?
hmmm, anybody also know where I can find info on bios settings for this? As in when I go into the bios what options should I set? Predominantly I went with the default, except for things like boot order.
