Using Windows ME I have shut down problems after installing extra 40Gb IDE harddisk – that seems to have its own power saving feature. When using this drive eg. playing games – and later closing the system down, Windows stop with failure. I believe it is the cache for this IDE drive that are not writen due to harddisk being sleeping by the built in power saving feature.
Is my guess coreect – if so how do I prevent this happing – I have tried through the APCI configuration without success.
