shutting down process in Win2k pro

By rhiegen ·
Hi Friends,

I have a doubt I've already tried to shutdown my win2k pro station using rundll32 user32.exe, exitwindows but I could'nt get it shutdown. How can I schedule my station to shutdown (ATX PowerSupply), every night at 10 pm?
And also, where can I find some guide or application ou anything else which can reveal me the service name and the file name of WinNT/2000?

Thank you very much

Paulo

Try the site below for info on the use of the RUNDLL32 SHELL32,SHExitWindowsEx n command string;

http://www.pcforrest.freeserve.co.uk/se_shutdown.htm

This site talks about Win98 SE but I believe the command string works the same way.

The win2k resource kit has some tools in it that you can setup in a batch file to shut down your machine at 10pm.

Shutgui.exe is the tool and you can just schedule it to shutdown at whatever time you like.

Otherwise there are other tools out there that do the same job.. a quick search on www.google.com should return some match.

regards,

jb
