Simple MP3 player is recognized differently on different XP workstations

by joseph_gaudiano . Updated 17 years, 3 months ago

I have a USB 2.0 mp3 player when I connect it to a Windows XP computer it only shows me the files I copied to the root directory’

When I connect it to another computer also running windows xp I can see the entire content of the drive.

It is a simple MP3 player there is no interface on the unit itself only volume control, play, power, up, down ect.

The only marking on the device is Digital Audio.

Windows sees it as a usb 2.0 hs flash drive.

Is there any software that will detect the drive and show me it’s entire content I bet if I install all the latest updates and service packages for windows the device will be fully recognized. However I cant do this all the time to ever workstation I use my device on. Kinda need a 3rd party fix

Thanks for any ideas
Joseph
