simple www problem

By Whatme? ·
Domain W2K. I am hosting my own web server. My name registrar points to our 2 external DNS servers where I have entered the domain name and Ip address. Externally... I can't type in www.xxx.com. just xxx.com works to reach the domain web. What should i enter to make it work

On your dns server, you need to create a new host record for the domain. name it www and give it the right ip address.

Contact your Registrar, it sounds like they have not replicated your domain prefix or they have screwed up your record. Also make sure you dont have any entries in your host file that may conflict with this.

Go back to your DNS provider and have them create a A record for www. This WWW is the host name and it should have its own record.
