    I am studing for ccna and I am wondering if there is a software or programme to simulate router/switch configuration for practice since I can’t afford to buy one.

      You do have to purchase the software, but it is the closest thing to a real router that I have seen.
      You can also search google or your favorite search engine for similar. There are some demos out with limited functionality.

      Cisco has also created a router simulation that they use in their Cisco Academies. You can sometimes find this sim bundled with CCNA study guides published by various vendors.

      Boson makes an excellent router simulator – I just used it studying for my Cisco CCNA and you can set up to 5 routers anyway you want – http://www.boson.com
