Single Image Creation

By rvalleau ·
Does anyone know of any resources to create a single image that can be deployed to multiple hardware platforms?
We are currently using the Dell X-Image process to deploye XP Dell systems but would like to bring the process in-house.
I find the Binary Research Universal Imaging Tool interesting.

Any other ideas?

For Microsoft, you could use SYSPART.

I am using a completely different approach deploying hardware (all different types). We use a server where the OS and Software is deposited. Then there is this project on sourceforge.net (http://unattended.sourceforge.net) which allows you to automate an installation and install almost anything you want, how you want, and that with practicaly no user intervention, via the server. The interesting thing is, it is free and it doesn't care too much about different hardware plattforms.
