By vincentp ·
Hi,
I have an eagerness to know what SIP Application Server exactly does in a real time senario.Could you please explain me in detail what a SIP Application Server does in services like Instant Messaging or Call Forwarding ,what all inputs it require and moreover which all entities(like HSS,S-CSCF etc) does it interact with, in order to perform its task. Please explain me the call flow taking the examples of IM and Call Forwarding.
Thank You.

With regards
Vincent P.

I know you would prefer a detailed response, but I think you should read this PDF and perhaps frame your question a little more. Right now it is a very large topic to cover in a small space. :)

Here is the weblink: I found it interesting and helpful

or you could try:

There are a lot of good links out there and their is even a SIP forum for discussion.
