sister site is getting a Domain unavailable mssg

By russell.barker ·
The way we are setup.
both sites are running NAT.
Both sites use a firewall that is our router also (Netscreen). And we are still using NT 4 as controllers.
User is able to login at point A but when same user tries to login at point B the user gets a domain unavailable message at point B and is unable to login. All workstations are WIN2K.
One other strange item is that on point B systems user profiles are change to unavailable.
We got one working by rejoining the system to the domain.

NT 4 is known for the need to re-add computers to the domain.
When the domain us not available, or the computer is not on the domain, any domain user accounts are shown as unavailable.
with this in mind, it would seem that if the domain is not available either the computers are not joined or that there is a communication problem.
check all ip settings and ping the gateway, dns, wins servers for connections. If they dont ping, try tracing the problem.
Do your PDC's replicate to each other? If not the user accounts might not be on the local (B site) PDC which could cause the problem.
