Site-ings: IT pros should head for the H

By craiglins911 ·
so anybody out there know how to get xp-pro off a system and re-install windows 2000 pro without data loss, and without having to format the root drive? Truelly xp has caused more problems for me than it's hefty price tag could warrant, The troublelies in direct x 8.1 and it's ability to relate to older software. Also driver suport for xp is slow or almost non existant. E-mail a response to I'm sure that I am not alone in my quest for a good o s . 2000 was working ok, and like a lemming I followed a sales person's advice and installed xp-pro, the rersults were lets say, less than advertized.

Sorry to hear XP Pro has been a pain for you. I installed XP Pro and Home Edition...without any glitches/problems. They are both running beautiful, better than 2000. See if you could go to the manufacturer's website...its 3 months later...driversshould be out by now.

If you want to uninstall XP...(please tell me you chose the "upgrade option" when you installed XP, you didn't choose the clean install did you?) go to control panel, add/remove programs, and uninstallation of XP should bethere. If it ain't there...may be the next guy the posts a reply knows...cause me have no clue after that. Good Luck, and try giving XP another chance...
