I am assuming that you have two hard drives, in order to make one slave and one the primary. In order to do this you would have to switch the jumpers on the back of the hd, switch the one you want as primary to the master setting, and the secondary to slave, or cable select.

Any further questions let me know.

Do you already have an extra HDD? if not grab an external Hard drive, it will plug in by USB... and be a whole lot easer... then its just drag and drop....

The Drive you want to "slave" is from your LAPTOP?

you need an external drive enclosure for a laptop HD (ata to usb) (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817145752) this could work if your HD is 2.5" Parallel ATA Hard Drive.

Then plug it in to another PC and pull of your data as if it were an external HD or Thumbdrive.

Remove the HD from the external device and mount it back in your Laptop. Then boot from cd and start a fresh install of windows.
