I have a computer running Windows 2000 professional with a HP DesignJet 330 directly connected to its parrallel port. Anything that I print from this machine comes out fine. I have another machine running Windows 98 and is connecting to the DesignJet 300 from the 2000 machine via Microsoft File and Print sharing. This is a pure Microsoft network environment. When I print from the Windows 98 machine to the DJ330, I open up the queue and watch as the data s-l-o-w-l-y trickles over. I’m talking real slow here people. After about 10 minutes, we’re lucky to have 1MB transfered.
Before you all go getting crazy on me, both these machines are connected at 100MB/Full duplex to the same switch. Upon checking the switch port statistics, neither port is showing any loss in packets or collisions or any other sign of bad network connectivity.
I have been working on this problem for months, have downloaded all the recent drivers, updated both machines with all current pathces, you name it.
So, what do I do?
