Slow in opening network folders

Hi,

I have a windows xp pro machine that is really slow in opening files and folders from the network and from our file servers. The weird part is that it takes much longer to open up a folder as you get deeper into the folder directory structure. The first folder opens pretty quick but as you get deeper, it can take up to 15-40 seconds to open it up. It’s only happening to this one desktop only. Are there any configuration I should check?

Info about our network: all or our servers are windows 2003 server and are running 1gb transfer rate. All stations are either xp pro or 2000 running at 100mb.
