slow login and logoff windows 7

By frawser7917 ·
I got windows 7 in my computer. I am facing this issue for a month now. Whenever I turn on or restart my computer the welcome screen with the blue ring will be displayed for about 2 minutes then comes the user accounts for me to login. And not all the times but randomly the system shutdowns slowly, sometimes it gets stuck while shutdown and displays only the wallpaper and I have to manually shutdown the computer using the power button. No new programs installed in the computer.

Slow bootup and shutdown on WIndows 7

by PuterGuy07 In reply to slow login and logoff win ...

It's tough to know what is causing this because I don't know if you're connecting to a network or what your configuration is or what else is attached or loaded on this machine.

I'm sure that there is probably a /bootlog switch in the MSCONFIG utility that will create a log file that contains times for difference components to load. My guess is that a device and/or device driver is causing the hangups. Check that log.

The other thing that may be doing this is anti-virus or maybe even a piece of malware. But my guess is it's looking for something that isn't there or can't load.

1. OS - Windows 7 ultimate 6.17600 Build 7600 X86 32 bit

2. Motherboard & Processor- Intel D945GCNL core2duo 2.00GHz
RAM - 1GB

3. Other hardware - Intex 4CH ESS1938 Sound card (driver for this hardware supporting windows 7 is not available. so I had installed driver which supports vista and it is working fine with windows 7. I had also removed his sound card and check but still i face the issue).

No other external devices attached. to the computer except a webcam and a printer. Both are working fine.

RAM?

I think 1GB RAM is too low for Win7. Hence!!!???
