this network printer used to print fairly fast even when printing multiple copies. but recently it will pause for about 2 minutes before printing the next copy (only about 5 pages or less on average) they are the same information. why is this happening and how to fix it.

Use one good antispyware software on your network computers. The IPC$ is usually the one that is infected by spywares, so the connection with the server becomes sluggish. I had once this problem you describe and in the end it was all about spywares.
You mean the processing of the print would ask for more RAM on the printer ? You try to print big documents or one-two pages ? I don't think it is about RAM. I do think it is about your computers network. There is this article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/893225/en-us from Microsoft, but I think you are already to SP3, so it is not an issue for you. Anyway, you can try the following also : - add a port LPT to your network printer : > net use lpt2 \\networkshare\printername Add the LPT2 port as a second port for your printer (Properties). Try again the printing. It should be faster, if you are SP2 switch to SP3.
