By SystemCheck ·
this network printer used to print fairly fast even when printing multiple copies. but recently it will pause for about 2 minutes before printing the next copy (only about 5 pages or less on average) they are the same information. why is this happening and how to fix it.

What is the Make and Model? How long has it been powered on for? Have you tried to just power cycle it?

Hi there,

Use one good antispyware software on your network computers. The IPC$ is usually the one that is infected by spywares, so the connection with the server becomes sluggish.
I had once this problem you describe and in the end it was all about spywares.

Hi there,

You mean the processing of the print would ask for more RAM on the printer ? You try to print big documents or one-two pages ? I don't think it is about RAM. I do think it is about your computers network. There is this article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/893225/en-us from Microsoft, but I think you are already to SP3, so it is not an issue for you.
Anyway, you can try the following also :
- add a port LPT to your network printer :
> net use lpt2 \\networkshare\printername
Add the LPT2 port as a second port for your printer (Properties). Try again the printing. It should be faster, if you are SP2 switch to SP3.
