slow startup XP 40 sec. standby?

my XP pro starts really slow.
i downed bootvis and runned it, it says that the boot takes about 43 sec. on drive (locating?).
6 sec on drivers and the rest about 10 sec total.
So my question is: how can i short the time to get “drive” to a faster loadingtime? (according to a similar system this time should be 5 or 6 seconds.)
