small business server and windows vista networking problem

By ozziesbodyshop ·
I have a server running samll business server 2000. I am trying to connect a new computer to the network that is running vista business. When i plug the vista computer in it finds a network and connects to the internet through that network but i cant see any other computers on the network so i can not use any network drives. Any help would be great.

See if this will help

Has the Vista PC actually been added to the Domain.
Open Network and Sharing Center by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Network and Internet, and then clicking Network and Sharing Center.
Check that network discovery is enabled along with anything else that you may need.
You can also lower the authentication level Vista uses by following the directions below.
Click Start, Run and type secpol.msc and press Enter, run it as administrator if required.
Under Local Policies\Security Options
Change the value of Network Security: LAN Manager authentication level from NTVLM2 responses only to LM and NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated.

You are awesome - what an easy fix - my IT guy told me we would have to jump thru all sorts of hoops to get this done. Thanks again and MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!
