I am assuming that you already have the three computers on a network and have an internet connection on one of them.

This can be done using either WinGate or SyGate (both of which are commercially available products). Your internet machine will be set up as a server and your other computers will be clients. The two programs are nearly identical and, while I have used both of them, I haven't used them enough to have an opinion on which is better.

If you have Win98SE, there is an InternetConnection Sharing program that comes with it. I haven't used it, so I don't know how well it works, but you may want to investigate that as well since it's free.

I'm not sure if win98 has internet connection sharing (ICS) but i know win98SE does. Now in case you have the latter, there is a wizard you have to run that will set this up for you. You need a blank floppy. The wizard will put a file with settings on the floppy and you need to run the wizard on all the systems. ICS uses its own network settings so if you had already specified settings you'll notice they're no longer the same.
You can also run the Internet Connection Sharing wizard by clickingStart, pointing to Settings, clicking Control Panel, double-clicking Internet Options, clicking the Connections tab, and then clicking Sharing under LAN and Internet Sharing Settings.
The Internet Connection Sharing wizard will set the IP address of the Connection Sharing computer to 192.168.0.1. Other computers on your home network can be set statically to any IP address in the range from 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.253.
This should do it for you....

If you go into Windows help and look up
internet connection sharing, it gives you
instructions and a walkthrough...it's pretty
straightforward. Good luck! :)

If your using Windows 98 SE or the SE upgrade go to this site (it is mine). http://ccorn.ne.mediaone.net/Html/networking.html it has all the information you need on setting up Internet Connection Sharing using Win98. It does work, I'm using it on Mediaone (AT&T) Cable and this is how I setup my whole network.
