SMB connection over internal network not working
I have an Amazon Fire Cube with the VLC Media Player app intentionally plugged in to my Modem via ethernet for optimum streaming. The modem is on IP 192.168.1.254.
I have a separate TP Link AX6000 Router plugged into the Modem. The IP of the Router is 192.168.0.1. The IP of the Router as far as the Modem is concerned is 192.168.1.104.
I have a hard disk plugged in via USB 3 to the Router. The contents of this hard disk are available by browsing to smb://192.168.0.1 from any device connected to the Router.
However, I want to be able to connect to this hard drive via SMB from the VLC app on the Amazon Cube whilst it’s plugged in to the Modem.
I upgraded to the TP Link recently. This was possible before the upgrade. My laptop, connected by WiFi, in this instance had the hard drive plugged in. I was able to SMB to the laptop on 0.186 whilst the Cube was on 1.254.
Any help greatly appreciated!
