By Fkra_Guy ·
Hi, are there any limitations to deploying and maintaining Non-Windows applications with Microsoft SMS 2003?

What you're meaning with non-Windows? After all SMS only has clients for Windows desktop OS ;-)

But if you mean DOS or 16-bit apps to be run under a 32-bit OS like XP, I cannot remember SMS itself imposing limits. Of course you will have to use the standard 'PDF' format and not the MSI version, and also you have the responsibility for making the app run on Win in the first place - e.g. through the PIF settings associated with it. The PIF itself can also be distributed with the PDF.

Hope this helps a bit,

We have a Windows platform (2000/XP), so I'm thinking of non-Microsoft
applications.
My question is wheather this declaration is true "Any Application that can be installed on a Intel / Microsoft platform can be manged by SMS 2003"
