sms2003 ip change impact on 2ndary site?

By peter.berger@genexsrvcs ·
Our branch office LAN is getting re-subnetted and the secondary sms 2003 site server will get a new ip address and subnet mask. This server is also a Domain Controller/Global Catalog.

Other than changing the IP information inside Windows 2003SP1 Domain Controller network card properties, how will changing the IP affect SMS?
Will SMS realize the changes and continue flawlessly, or will we have to delete and re-install the secondary SMS site?

Any help/411 would be great. Thanks...

You have to change the site link properties. Systems Management Server works with Active Directory therefore if you change the site link, you have to change it in AD sites and services and reestablish the site link properties. SMS will rediscover [without any changes]the managed clients on the new site link.
