By mcclamma ·
I have just deployed SMS 2.1 on our NT network. I have one user which, sms did not create a local SMSCliToknAcct&. It did create a SMSCliSvcAcct& account. since the password for that account is set by SMS I cannot create that account successfully. I have found serveral errors in the even log.

Marty,

The client machine has a problem with it's local security policies. You will need to go through all of the local security information piece by piece. This is not an SMS issue and will more than likely cause you more pain furter down the road if not fixed. I would suggest re-loading the OS.

Good Luck.....Jeremy

agree, reload the OS if possible, if not, fix for now & build a new box to keep from having down time. Fix: you will need to clean the client box, Check the security as above, then rerun the smsman.exe from the server. Thisis how I do it, from cmd prompt, rclient into the client machine, you should have a clicln, if not you may need to do this local, ie rebuild the box. This file is called clicln.exe..should clean the box. then net ues into the sms partent that your using and rerun the smsman.exe. However, if it were my decision I would reload the OS as well. Good Luck- Al
