smtp error when sending outbound mail

by chipw . Updated 25 years ago

I have NT4sp6a on a HP Netserver E60. IIS is installed and working, I want to set up smtp to handle outbound mail, very low usage. I have smtp installed, set up, and running in the IIS MMC. I am testing with outlook express on the iis box. I get the following error when sending:
———————————
The message could not be sent because the server rejected the senders email address. The senders email address was ‘chip.wiegand@simrad.com’. Subject was ‘Test’. Account ‘157.237.65.105’. Server ‘157.237.65.105’. Protocol SMTP. Server response: 452 Insufficient System Storage. Port 25, Secure (SSL): No. Server Error 452. Error No. 0x800CCC78
—————————————
As for insufficient server storage – this particular box has over 6gigs of available storage. As for the rejected email address – this is my email address, it works.
I check Technet and came up with no responses with this error.
I have sendmail set up and working on a FBSD box, but want the IIS smtp for a backup (though I have had no need of one yet, and don’t foresee it needed, it’s just for redundancy).
