Where can I grab a copy of this file off the net? My install CD is missing, nothing to be found at the usual sites. Thanks in advance.

I found this on the net. Don't know if it will help, but it can't hurt!

the file may be corrupted. you can rename or delete this file(default loc.C:\windows) then:
click start-----run-----type in "sfc" (w/out quotes)-----this is System File Checker--click circle next to "extract one file....."----type in the file name "sndvol32.exe"-----click start-----
in "restore from" box it should read C:\windows\options\cabs
in "save file in" box it should read
C:\windows
click ok. a clean stored copy will be added to windows directory.
*next to make sure this file sits in your tray click control panel-----multimedia-----check the box for "show icon in taskbar"----click ok,exit
that should do it
*learn to use "sfc" and also adjust the settings in it to your preferences.

You can also try downloading this sound mixer instead. The site is: http://www.aclass.com/SOFT/sound.html and the application is called MicroMixer. It replaces the sndvol32.exe file, it's win9X, and should function with all audio cards. Try either suggestion and if they still don't work, let me know.

Don't know where on the net it can be found - but if you email me at rsmith24@uswest.net, I can arrange to get you a copy.

Hope this helps :-)
