When Installing a CD burner on to a system that already has a Carom. I have mine set up as follows: Hd on IDE 1 Burner on IDE 2 as master and CD Rom on IDE 2 as a slave. It works fine. How ever a while ago in the tech questions someone had asked about the best way to install his burner and there were several different answers. One guy swore up and down that you shouldn?t have a burner and a CDrom on the same IDE port some one else said that its better to have them on the same channel so you don?t slow down your HD access time. So what is the correct way? Is there a correct way or is it a vender specific issue.
