Software Can't find CD Writer on System

By Weezernwad1 ·
I have a Dell Dimension XPS T Series with Windows 98 SE. I have created over 30 different picture slide show CD's. I use ULEAD Photo Explorer 7.0, HP Memory Disk and Smart Disk software. Now for some reason none of the above software can find the CD Writer on my system to record anymore picture slide shows onto a CD-R CD. I am however still able to create music CD's with the Adaptec easy CD Creator. How can I fix this problem? Thank you for all of your help.

Hi,
Is your copy of Easy CD creator a full version or a cut down version thta came with your burner? The full version has photo burning software in it.

To add to that, you might have to go to the manufacturers web site to get updates for thier burning software. Get thier updates and you might be able to burn. I know that roxio has updates for drives all the time and many times have i seen issue like this resolved after updating the software on your client.

You probably have version 5 of Roxio EZ Cd Creator as most early CD Burnewrs did. the latest patch or upgrade may help. You can get 5.3.5.10 at:
http://www.roxio.com/en/support/ecdc/ecdc_basic_xp_updt53.jhtml

Another thing that might help with W98 is ASPI drivers. I use Goldenhawk software and they offer an ASPI driver download at:
http://www.goldenhawk.com and go to the download page.
