anyway,yea, we run this ePolicy Orchestrator product that lets the admin actually push out the agent to any PC or groups of PC’s.
& it’s dynamic, IE no wait, n fuss..bam & it’s there.
AND with that agent, admin X can push DAT updates, Engine update’s on the fly.
ALSO, I’m told that this product has some feature whereby you can specify an eXE on a run line & push that out as well, & that’s what interests me.
Correct me if I’m wrong about ZEN: don’t you have to schedule an application object ?
AND further, in order for a W/S object to pick up that schedule, you have to run ZENAPP32.DLL against the desired W/S object(s)?
That has been one of the gotcha’s for me about ZEN. The fact that the W/S has to FIRST read the schedule, THEN it can run the app.
ALSO(phew) can you push out executables?
OR are you limited to ONLY running (using pre-install/overnight dist) Snapshotted apps?
That was another limitation I found: that you couldn’t use pre-install unless it was a snapshot based distribution.
