Over the last two years I have performed two Hardware and software audits. in the past I have used a combination of Computer management console, mapped drives and walking to each workstation to gather my data. Then I compile all the information on a spreadsheet and I used this to track my licensing. This is becoming quite time consuming and potentially in-accurate.
What kind of guidelines/checklists do you follow when auditing your network? What kinds of software do you use?
