what platform does this pertain to?
is this a physical or logical lock?

An account ID that has a password at log-on.

Windows Key + L will lock your desktop screen and keyboard/mouse. Any attempt to access the computer will bring up a password window (if it's not already visible).

If your account does not have a log-on password, the key combination will not work.
