That kinda depends

Are you mid-stream in development or are you testing a completed project? What are the requirements? What is the customer experience flow? Are you doing QA? Stress testing? Compatibility testing?

There are some things, depending on what you want/need to accomplish that can be standard. That list of standards is not and cannot be complete for each development effort because each effort has different goals.

Take a look at what the project specifies in requirements and you will find the answers you are looking for.

Yes.
There's a knack to it though.
A developer might assume that no one would try and type a word in a numeric field, a tester will assume that the developer did assume that, until proven otherwise.
And when they get version two, they'll check again.

This first question you should ask yourself is are you going to be any good at it?
