Software to Print Expandable PDF Form

I have created adobe acrobat pdf fillable forms which have a few expandable fields. Is there economical software available that can format the pdf form so that all content in the expandable fields can be printed?

I looked in the Adobe Life Cycle Designer and it is very expensive to get that license so I am looking for an alternative. I only need 1 license to make these edits and create the form so it is fully printable. Any suggestions for software would be great.

Again, just looking for software that can help change a pdf fillable form so all the contents of the form can be viewed/printed out. Any suggestions are welcome! Thanks much,.

Sounds like this should NOT be a PDF.

Maybe it should be a Word Document and maybe a script.
      Or an app.

I am happy to convert it to a word document but then I will still have the issue of printing the document out. Not sure if Word allows the formatting to be changed so it does expand and show all content so it can be printed.

Do you have any other ideas that might work?

Remember that Word has a scripting language

And is powerful enough to take a document with fields and create a new document for printing. This is a mid-tier IT or programmer task. Most companies have such on their staff.

      Let’s redesign that PDF.

      1. DO NOT use expandable fields.
      2. Use checkboxes.

      Simple solution really.

Expandable Fillable Forms – To Print

        by marti830 ·

        In reply to Second thought.

Well, it has to be expandable fields as employees need to add their goals, accomplishments and tasks to accomplish their goals. So I do need expandable fields. Do you know of any software I can use to edit those expandable form fields so they can be fully printed?

          To the question, no.

But you could put the work out to bid on Fiverr.com or similar sites. I don’t expect this to be cheap or fast.

Given the story, make the field big enough for the the 99%. As a System Analyst we know to never cover the last sub percent for a PDF. It’s not worth covering those that want to write a novel in a survey or form.

The more I think about it, the only real hurdle are those that demand it be an expandable field.

I want to be clear about this.

Let’s hear it from Adobe’s own forums.

” Printing everything in an expandable field is a feature of LiveCycle Designer PDF forms, but not Acrobat PDF forms. In other words, you can’t fix this to print the long field scrollable text. ”
      https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat/expandable-fields-text-not-printing/m-p/9161827

      A workaround is noted:
“The only solution is to set the font size to Auto, which will cause it to become smaller and smaller as you type in more text into the field.”
