Software to Produce Projector-Like Slide Shows by DVD

I’m looking for PC Software that will allow me to collect many digital photos (or anything else for that matter) using this software; this
software will then either create the files for burning or burn the files directly onto a DVD. That DVD can then be placed in an ordinary DVD player; I can then use the DVD Remote to go through the “slides” one-by-one, much like slide projectors used to! In other words, advance a photo when I push the forward button, go back when I push the reverse button, and do nothing until I do one of the above. Plus, perhaps put the slide name on the screen.

It seems that DVD games can do this, why not slide shows?
