Hi!
I was wondering if anyone successfully has set up Win2k with ICS and RAS?
I am the network admin at a SOHO (Small Office/Home Office) with 2 servers. I have a Win2k server running file sharing and printer services and a NT 4.0 server running Exchange 5.5. I recently changed the network protocal from Netbeui to TCP/IP and am using ICS to share the internet connection to the server (2 LAN Cards…1 for Internet, the other for the LAN). The ICS is also handling the DHCP, DNS, NAT, etc.. Everything works fine on the LAN as I can connect and browse both servers using Win98, Win2k, and WinXP machines.
However, when I dial in using RAS, I can’t. Depending on the OS, I get different results. Has anyone successfully set this upor should I actually set up DCHP, DNS, and NAT on the Win2k server and use another method to share the internet connection (eg Proxy Server)?
I believe the problem is with RAS and ICS. Any insight would be helpful.
Thanks in advance for any responses!
Thanks!
