Solaris 10

by linux152 . Updated 19 years, 4 months ago

I am a newbiee to Solaris 10! I have used the Sun Device Detection Tool, and it determined, that my systems have a Intel Network controller that the Solaris 10 OS does not support. (82562ET/EZ/GT/GZ PRO/100 VE (LOM) Ethernet Controller) Do I need a ethernet controller driver for Solaris 10 to function correctly as an Application Sever, or a Workstation? My network will consist of A (1)Dell Dimension DE051 w/Celeron CPU 2.53GHz, 512MB RAM, 160G HD.(2)DELL DV051 w/Pentium 4 CPU 2.80GHz, 1GB RAM, 80G HD, and (3)Dell Laptop, Pentium M processor, 1.73GHz, 1GB RAM, 40GB HD… All but the laptop has one of those controllers in them. Will I have to hunt for a driver for the controller or will I have to create a driver like they do at times in LINUX? Any help is appreciated..
