Solution to Manage Customer Software Purchases/Registration/Updates?

We have a project that entails having an online solution available for our customers to register and maintain their software that they have purchased from us directly or through one of our channel partners. This software is not available to the general public and we do not have a protected e-commerce solution at the moment. I've had a team looking into potential solutions for a while now and we haven't come across the solution that meets our needs just yet. Does anyone have any recommendations for software providers or developers that can meeting this shortened list of requirements?

1. Administrators configure the list of products that can be registered.
2. The Solution should match a software purchase from our business system to the registration info provided by a customer. In some cases we'll have software that sells through a channel partner and the end-user is unknown. But the software purchase is recorded in the Solution for future registration.
3. Only pre-authorized customers, if known, have accounts that they can log into the online solution to register their software. New customer-created accounts for previously unknown customers can register software, but cannot purchase other available software until fully vetted by our administrators.
4. Customer has the ability to keep track of their software.
5. Customer has the ability to download updates and patches during maintenance period.
6. Customer can purchase maintenance extension to receive new updates/patches.
7. Customer is notified when warranties or maintenance periods are about to expire.
8. Back-end reporting available to produce list of registered software, with customer info and warranty status. We'll use this for meetings and contacting customers when necessary.
9. Preferable to be a solution we can host and extend ourselves, providing us with the ability to integrate it with our business system.

We have a fairly lengthly list of other requirements, but those listed above serve our primary goals of allowing our customers to register and maintain software they have purchased from us. Any recommendations for a solution would be very appreciated. Thanks.

Hi There,

If I understand your requirements correctly, I assume you are targeting Windows environment. I think that the custom solution could be designed to fulfill exact need addressing purchased software licenses, registrations/activations, updates etc. There are pure patch management software available in the market. Microsoft do help with few solutions that help do track through Active Directory for various attributes of software deployed on Windows network platform.
