Solutions for travelling remote access

By markflaherty ·
I am internested in the subject of how other companies are providing remote access to their networks for travellng users (especially those who travel internationally).
I am also interested in experiences of what works well and what doesn't work well.
We currently use the internet with Cisco VPN client software to a Cisco Firewall. We have had mixed experiences in different parts of the world.

Worth a try

You may want to check out over a VPN solution under an ASP model. Works great if you employees have a desktop in the office and then need to access it from the best over a high speed connection. Very easy to set upand administer....

Looking for overseas experiences...

by markflaherty In reply to Worth a try

The organisation I look after has implemented Citrix Secure Gateway and this works well. However, the main problem seems to be that the general managers who travel overseas (and are not technical) get themselves into all sorts of problems trying to establish the initial connection. Once they have connected to the Citrix Secure Gateway, it all works reasonably well.

What I would like to find out is what sort of "global roaming" service others are using and how it works for those who have more than technical solutions on their mind.
