Some users can not log on

By ogruizr ·
I have a Domain Windows 2000 with some Domain Controllers. Now I have a problem, when one of DCs is down some users can not log on from their PCs.

Some users can not log on

If that DC is the global catalog server, then users will have trouble logging on.

Administrators will still be able to log on regardless.

By default, the first DC in the forest will be the global catalog. If you want to assign additional GCs, you'll need to do so from the AD Schema snap-in using the mmc. To install it, go to start, run, and type regsvr32 schmmgmt.dll
