I have had my computer in my place of business for 2 years. I have let some of my customers use my computer to access their email and to download some games and music from Limewire.
I don’t know a lot about the computers only how to download articles and some of my favorite 50’s and 60’s music.
I publish a small local free newspaper here in Starke.
There have been many students from the local school and college that have used my computer.
These people are customers her in my barber shop. I actually trusted them to never abuse the favor. It’s hard for some to use the free computers at our local library, because of the long wait to use them.
While I was working in my business I could never see what they were accessing.
I know now I should never let anyone use my computer without having a way to actually see what they were doing.
Well I learned my lesson so far!
One day last week 2 FBI Agents came to me and wanted to take at my computer. Without any problem I allowed them to get on my computer and take a look. They told me that they had information from somewhere that I had been downloading Chil Porn, which I hate.
I never knew how to get rid of any of that stuff so when they checked it it was full of that trash!
They asked me if I was the only person using the computer and I told them about the use of others.
They picked up my computer, external hard drive. and everything attached to it.
Now they tell me they are keeping it for evidence.
I had to buy another PC for my business. NO ONE USES IT NOW!
I feel that someone using it has gotten into my email and private information.
They have even created FAKE Email names, and sent emails as if it came from me.
PLEASE tell me what I can do.
I am trying to get names for the FBI, of people that abused me in this matter.
Most of these people I don’t even know their names.
I know them when I see them.
I kow of on or two people and I gave their names to the FBI.
Please, Please tell me what I can do. I need someone’s help.
I have hired an attorney he tells me I don’t have anything to worry about, BUT I am still so worred I can’t sleep at night.
I was a member of Jacksonville Voices Against Pornagraphy for several years and I published many articles for the organization, telling people the dangers of ANY Porn.
The organization was founede by Mr. Simon Smith of Jacksonville, he passed away 4 months ago, so I can’t get any information from him.
I am desperate, someone please tell me what I need to do.
I hate to be so long winded with my first post but I had to tell all I know at this time.
